Savoy Cocktail of the Week: Breakfast Cocktail

Last week we tried the oh-so-refreshing and tropical Bolo cocktail. And even someone unnamed who does not drink and hates the smell of alcohol said  it smelled pretty good.

This is a rousing endorsement. Really.

It was delicious and tasted like summer. It made us forget the near freezing rain outside.

I recommend.

Next up, I propose the Breakfast Cocktail (pg. 36), because I like breakfast and I am always intrigued by drinks that involve egg whites. Furthermore, I believe that only good can be found in the broadening of one’s selection of morning-acceptable cocktails. After all, sometimes mimosas are too headache-y, sometimes Bloody Marys are too spicy.

Sometimes, if you put an egg in a drink it counts as a meal. Like actual breakfast.

Let’s do it. Be buzzed at work.

1/3 Grenadine
2/3 Dry Gin
The White of 1 Egg

Shake well and strain into a large wine glass.
