Savoy Cocktail of the Week: Little Devil

The Little Devil cocktail is quite capable of standing up to its name, in that—unlike many Savoy cocktails—the taste is not overwhelmingly alcoholic, but rather fruity and punchy. It is more akin to the modern cocktail in this regard. One could easily down a couple Little Devils without fully registering the fact that only non-alcoholic ingredient is a tiny bit of lemon juice.

Little Devil Cocktail

1/6 Lemon Juice
1/6 Cointreau
1/3 Bacardi Rum
1/3 Dry Gin

Shake well and strain into cocktail glass.

So basically, it is delicious, festive, and—as aforementioned—punchy.  I recommend it for those imbibers who prefer the modern cocktail experience to the prohibition era libation. Of course, a couple of Little Devils will still most likely knock a person over.

Up next?

1/2 Bacardi Rum
